People who work on ACT Teams are usually highly committed and dedicated, showing commitment to the people they serve and their team, while also practicing with flexibility, responsiveness and a willingness to do whatever it takes to get the job done.  While all positive attributes, working in this way can lead people to feel stress and tired. In this training participant's will be guiding in exploring signs that they may be clenching (restricting and tightening) in their work and how to counterbalance this through leaning into ones work, finding flow, and engaging in activities that promote self-care.

Objectives:

  • Participants will identify and build self-awareness of ways compassion fatigue, stress and frustration can cause them to back away from their work.   Participants will learn to watch for "clenching" in their work.
  • Participants will be able to identify 3 strategies for taking ownership of situations in a way that facilitates lean in and respond, verse react,  in times of stress. Participants will develop a self-care plan to facilitate their ability to sustain their energy and engagement in the delivery of ACT services.
