Length: 3 training hours
This course will review the key aspects of ethical standards for various Minnesota mental health professionals as well as the agency ethics policy. It will also address various aspects of ethics in the Internet age, including issues raised by various forms of social media. Participants will be presented with a range of situations which raise ethical issues or present dilemmas, and will discuss how standards may be applied. Attention will be given to situations with competing ethical values.
Objectives:
- Participants will examine their own values in relation to agency and professional ethics.
- Participants will have a framework for exploring ethics within the context of social evolution.
- Participants will articulate strategies for examining and making ethical decisions.
