RADIAS Health cares about the well-being of employees and provides generous benefits to support their work-life balance.
An Open and Diverse Culture
At RADIAS Health it is our employees that make our culture what it is. The diversity of our employees is the pinnacle of what drives our culture to be open minded, compassionate, and inclusive of others. RADIAS Health strives to make all employees feel that their voices are heard and their feedback matters. Only through employee input can we drive changes to foster a safe, productive and positive work environment that embraces all of us.
Our Values
We are committed to being an anti-racist organization. We seek to hire professionals who strive to make a difference and who feel at home in a culture that is welcoming, understanding, and employee-driven.
All Are Welcome Here
- We welcome people from all races, ethnicities, religions, genders, sexual orientations, ages and abilities. We embrace each person for their unique characteristics, lived experiences, strengths and beliefs.
- All people have a right to equitable health care. We are committed to reducing barriers to care. This includes providing services to people with limited incomes, as well as providing active outreach to build awareness and opportunities to access care.
- RADIAS Health is committed to providing culturally congruent services. Attention will be given to each person’s goals related to embracing aspects of their individual identity.
- RADIAS Health is committed to equitable practices as an employer and service provider. We are continually working to improve, holding ourselves accountable through the process of seeking and responding to feedback, and engaging in on-going examination of our policies and practices.
- RADIAS Health is committed to the pursuit of social justice. This includes working to end racism and all forms of discrimination, as well as working to develop environments that facilitate diversity and inclusion.
Recovery is Possible
- Services are provided with an overarching belief of hope and recovery.
- A “Full Circle of Care” includes the integration of mental health, substance use disorder and physical health care – creating the opportunity for optimizing health.
- Service plans are developed based on the hopes and goals of each individual person. As a partner in care, we encourage people to develop, share, and grow towards their recovery goals. People receiving care can become their “own best expert on their illness,” and can identify the early warning signs to allow for early intervention when symptoms increase.
- Recovery starts with a safe and stable place to live. RADIAS Health is committed to use of a Housing First Model, actively partnering with people and the community of housing providers to help people find, get and keep housing.
- We advocate for development of resources to support individuals in moving out of poverty by addressing the impacts of socio-economic status on the ability to maintain health and recovery.
- In recognition of recovery being a process, Harm Reduction practices provide a foundation for our work. Service interventions will be based on an individual’s stage of change.
- Responding to the impact of trauma on mental health and healing, RADIAS Health integrates Trauma Informed Care practices into our services and operations.
Care is Customized
- Services provided will be culturally congruent. Programs will have meaningful conversation with people about their individual identity and how they would like their services to be delivered. Accommodations will be made to ensure cultural, traditional health practices, spiritual beliefs are honored and services will be linguistically accessible.
- Each person is an individual with specific strengths, vulnerabilities, and symptoms. Employees working with individuals should know each person as such, and respond in a flexible and according manner.
- Connections with community are critical for recovery. We help people define what types of activity and community involvement they would like to have, using personal preferences to define and build a meaningful life in the community. This may include:
- Family structure, roles and relationships
- Health, wellness and medicinal beliefs
- Religious beliefs and inter-relationship with health beliefs
- Sexual preferences and practices
- Styles of communication
- Integration of creative and identity grounding practices.
- Serious and persistent mental illness is a brain disease. It is neither a choice, nor is it a character weakness.
- Agency practices will be grounded in knowledge of interventions that are emerging as best practice or have been shown to be effective. A combination of medications, therapy and community support services will be used based on the recommended interventions for specific diagnoses.
- If a service intervention is not successful in helping people move towards recovery, it is the expectation that the program will take responsibility to change their approach.
- Our ability to customize care is dependent on the ability to successfully apply treatment models that have been shown to be effective. Consultation, supervision, and active engagement in learning is critical. RADIAS Health is committed to ensuring employees have access to consultation, supervision, and on-going learning opportunities.
Collaboration is Key
- Positive working relationships are key to quality service delivery. All people will be treated with courtesy and respect.
- Family, friends and supportive others are encouraged to be involved in treatment.
- Through partnership with other organizations, advocacy groups, community leaders and funders, we seek to find creative solutions for unmet community needs.
