This course will provide participants with an overview of trauma including the impact on the brain, body, and lives of the individuals who experience it. We will discuss the prevalence of trauma and common trauma responses. We will review characteristics of trauma informed providers the principles of trauma informed care. This training includes practice techniques for use with individuals you serve. In addition to direct service staff, this training is also recommended for Program Coordinators. This course is introductory level.
Objectives
- Participants will have an understanding of trauma and trauma reactions
- Participants will have the ability to identify and implement trauma informed service delivery strategies within their role as an ACT Team Member.

Throughout this six part leadership training series, team leaders will gain skills needed to self-assess their teams' current practices in relation to ACT fidelity, problem solve and identify solutions to their team specific barriers, and build continuous quality improvement plans.
Part 4: Clinical and Rehabilitative Anchors. This session will focus on the anchoring the teams work through intentional integration of therapy, enhancing the clinical practices by all team members and the structured use of psychiatric rehabilitation practices.
